All metal jewelry, in this case mens rings, can accumulate a little bit of grit here and there even if the ring is made out of strong metals such as titanium and tungsten especially since most men don’t hardly take their rings off. Even though rings made out of more conventional metals such as gold and silver do tend to scratch and get dirtier much faster, the proper maintenance performed on any ring can make that ring look just as shiny as the day you bought it.

Since platinum and gold rings are easily scratched and silver tends to build up tarnish over time, it is best to have these type of rings, be cleaned by a professional jeweler from time to time. The jeweler can also buff out scratches and repair finishes or perform any other sort of repair that the ring may need. If you don’t want to visit the jeweler so often then consider purchasing rings made out of titanium or tungsten since these two metals are virtually indestructible.

Lastly, as we mentioned before most men rarely remove their rings. If you do remove your ring it is best to place the ring in it’s own box or a jewelry box. This will help prevent the ring from being scratched or lost.
