Tacori adheres to the 5 C’s in the making of its jewelry and this is found especially in the Tacori diamond engagement rings. The 5 C’s stand for: Cut Clarity, Carat, Color and Communication.

To consider the distinguishing characteristic of a diamond these days, cut is usually considered the most important factor. “Cut” refers to the angles, shapes and proportions that are decided by a master gem cutter when he/she takes a “diamond in the rough” and transforms it into the perfect, shining diamond.

Then there is Clarity that refers to the relative absence of flaws. There are two things to avoid: an inclusion which is a flaw that covers into the gemstone; and a blemish which is a flaw on its surface. These inclusions and blemishes can interfere with the flow of light that goes through the diamond thus diminishing its brilliance and its value. The Gemological Institute of America (GIA) scale is used to measure this.

The measurements used are: FL meaning “flawless” which is the highest rate; VVS meaning “very, very slightly included;” and VS meaning “very slightly included” which are still difficult to notice by the naked eye unless with the aid of a jeweler’s magnifying glass; I, or “included” refers to the lowest rate that shows visible deficiencies. Tacori only picks diamonds between the levels SI1 and “Flawless.”

The third C is Carat. It refers to a diamond’s weight and not its size. It would be very difficult to find large carat diamonds so these are considered of utmost value. Before, carat was the most important factor in selecting diamonds but it has been replaced with cut.

Then there is the Color consideration. The common notion about the color of a diamond is “white” but actually it is “colorless” that shows great value. The most common color of diamonds is a shade of yellow while the least common is brown. Color is determined by a color scale produced by the GIA that rates diamonds from D to Z, with D as colorless.

There are other colors of a diamond that can be considered of great value too especially when these are pure and bright like red, purple and green. However, Tacori only chooses diamonds with the I-D color range.

Lastly, Tacori believes also in the fifth C, “Communication.” This factor is considered the most important of all aspects of the Tacori tradition. From the myriad of Tacori diamond engagement rings collection, choosing what your girlfriend really wants entails a lot of communication. With this, it will take time and serious consideration so the Tacori staff is more than willing to help.

The choice of the perfect diamond ring will then ensure extreme satisfaction and a long-term favor on the couple.
