The Emerald Cut Engagement Ring – A Popular Choice for Any Bride To Be

When it comes to choosing the perfect engagement ring, there are a few things to consider. The usual four C’s would always be in place – cut, carat, clarity and color. You may think this narrows down the field in choosing the engagement ring that you would offer to your future partner but think again, for some this creates more confusion.
One of the most popular choices would be the emerald cut engagement ring. An emerald cut does not necessarily mean that it only applies to emeralds. This cut is more popular for diamonds as it gives an opportunity for the gem to give off more sparkle. This may be due to the shape of the cut.
An emerald cut is rectangular in shape, sometimes it can be more of a square for both shapes; it would normally have cropped sides. An emerald cut engagement ring can be as simple or as extravagant as you would like. The traditional choice would always be the classic solitaire with the band of your choice. There would also be the emerald cut gem surrounded by smaller cut stones, this combination can be seen with a combination of gems – it would not be the usual all diamond-type ring, for this particular style, the center can be the gem of your choice, normally a favorite gem or sometimes the birthstone of the bride to be.
There would also be the not so classic choices when it comes to the band, the shape of the band, the setting of the stone and the combination of the gems – this would be for the more modern bride. The more popular gems would be the diamonds, emeralds, rubies and sapphires among these, it would be the diamond that would always come to mind as the perfect candidate for an emerald cut engagement ring, I would like to refer to it as the “classic with a twist” choice.
The last thing that would need to be considered would be the shape and size of the bride-to-be’s finger. For those with long slender fingers, the rectangular shape would be the better choice for the one’s with shorter and rounder fingers, the square shape would be better as the rectangular shape would make the finger look shorter. For some, this may not be an area to be considered but bear in mind, the idea is to choose the perfect ring for the perfect woman. All of the angles should be considered, not only with the ring itself but more so, the person you’re going to be giving the ring to.
